Transparent Polyamide Resin is an amorphous thermoplastic engineered to combine optical clarity with polyamide's inherent robustness. It achieves transparency by suppressing crystallinity, differentiating it from semicrystalline nylons like PA6 or PA66.
Key attributes include:
- Optical Performance: High light transmittance (>90%), comparable to polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).
- Low Moisture Absorption: ~0.25%, ensuring minimal dimensional fluctuation in humid environments.
- Chemical Resistance: Resists fuels, oils, weak acids, and alcohols.
- Thermal Stability: Retains flexibility at cryogenic temperatures (down to -70°C).
